The Cosmos of Connection | Poster Design
Maria Popova is a writer, philosopher, curator and the woman behind Brain Pickings, an online publication that combines art, science, psychology, design, philosophy, history, politics, anthropology and more, to create a more meaningful dialogue about the human experience. Popova runs Brain Pickings under the belief that these different disciplines are naturally related and interconnected, and thus, when combined, have the ability to illuminate one another, offering greater insight into humanity’s biggest questions. Using rich, primary colors and photographs of varying textures and materials, the poster series combines a number of unlike things, from the seemingly mundane faded red of a plastic toy truck, to water, our most valued resource. It is only when viewed together, as a series of three posters, that these elements are able to create a complete picture.
